American Pale Ale (APA)
- Color: golden to light amber, quite bright and transparent
Aroma of fresh and citrus hops, with notes of grapefruit, orange, pineapple and other tropical fruits and flowers. the main aromatic protagonist is hops. - Taste: balanced between the bitterness of the hops and the very smooth sweetness of the malts. Citrus flavors and a wide variety of fruit from the American hops are perceived, along with malty flavors that may include traces of biscuit.
- Beer body: Medium. It has a soft texture in the mouth and a certain sweetness, without being heavy.
- Bitterness: moderate to medium, it is present to balance the sweetness of the malts, without dominating the flavor profile.
Pairing
Pairs well with a wide variety of dishes, including burgers, meats, grilled chicken, tacos, citrus salads, mild cheeses, and not-so-sweet desserts like fruitcakes. Vegan dishes like vegetable curry, quinoa and avocado salad, grilled tofu with peanut sauce, black bean burgers.

Malts: base and other non-roasted, in different degrees and quantities. Flakes of different cereals.
Hops: fruity, citrus and tropical aromas.
Yeast: American high attenuation.
Water: decalcified, osmotized and with a medium concentration of salts.

Origin and tradition
APA is a beer style that emerged in the United States as an evolution of British Indian Pale Ales. It is characterized by its use of American ingredients and its focus on aromatic and flavor hops, which distinguishes it from British IPAs.
